
Grrrowl end long holiday weekend with 4-3 win at Columbia

Columbia, SC â After dropping a 3-2 decision to South Carolina on Saturday, the Greenville Grrrowl ended a holiday weekend stretch of four games in five days with a 4-3 win over the host Columbia Inferno on Sunday afternoon.
MIKKO SIVONEN (2:07) and Tim Smith (14:50) exchanged first period goals and it was 1-1 after 20 minutes. Then, ALEXANDRE BURROWS (3:06) and JUDD MEDAK (14:50) swapped goals against a pair from Shawn Wansborough (:46 & 7:37), and the team's were tied at three after two periods. The game-winner was scored by MARTIN MASA at 12:09 of the third period. The Grrrowl were outshot 29-25 in front of 3,419 at the Carolina Coliseum. Goaltender MICHAEL GARNETT stopped 26 of 29 shots for his 6th win of the season.
