Bakersfield Condors News Release

Bakersfield, Calif. – Kevin St. Pierre turned aside 29 shots and the Condors scored once in each period, as they extended their winning streak to nine games with a 3-0 victory in front of a season-high 7,968 fans on Teddy Bear Toss Night at Centennial Garden. The crowd was the fourth largest in franchise history.

Paul Rosebush scored his third goal of the season to start up the Teddy Bear Toss at 4:59 of the first period. Guy Dupuis assisted and the game was delayed while thousands of stuffed animals rained down onto the ice. In this, the fourth season the event has been held, over 10,000 stuffed animals have been collected.

In the second, Nate Anderson extended his point streak to four games with his second goal of the season at 5:28 of the second. St. Pierre stopped 12 shots during the second frame, while the Condors penalty killers continued to toil away. Long Beach failed to score on six power plays through the first two periods.

The third period brought about much of the same, as St. Pierre kicked out 10 more shots and Long Beach was goal-less on 5 more power play advantages. Christian Skoryna scored for the Condors to make it 3-0 Bakersfield.

The win was also the fourth consecutive on home ice for the Condors, who remain eight points behind first place Idaho, with five games in hand. Idaho defeated Anchorage tonight 4-0 in the only other action in the WCHL. The Condors are also 9-1 in their top 10 highest attended games.
