Growlers Trounce Crosstown Rival Bombers 10-3

Kalamazoo, Mich - In the battle for Michigan in the Northwood's League, the Kalamazoo Growlers (13-21) have bested the Battle Creek Bombers (15-19) by a score of 10-3.

The win makes the Growlers 3-0 against the crosstown rival Bombers on the season.

The Growlers totaled 10 hits on the day, turning those hits into runs.

Capitan Jared Kujawa (Western Michigan University) shined for the Growlers, he went 3-for-5 adding an impressive five RBI's, three of which can be attributed to Kujawa's monster home run into the Bells Bear Cave in right field.

Newly added Growler Karl Sorenson (St. Cloud State) proved himself in his first home appearance in the Growlers lineup, Sorenson went 3-for-5 with two RBI's.

Growlers starter Ryan Smoyer (Notre Dame) continued his dominance at home, he went a solid seven innings giving up six hits and striking out four, Smoyer was given the win for the outing.

The Growlers head east to Battle Creek for the second game of their home, and away double header against the Bombers, first pitch is at 7:05 p.m. at C.O. Brown Field.
