The Gateway Grizzlies hammered a franchise-record seven home runs Wednesday night en route to a 16-12 defeat of the Evansville Otters at GCS Ballpark. The two teams combined for 34 hits.

The Grizzlies (61-28) hit back-to-back home runs in the second inning and then again in eighth inning. They have now eight back-to-back home runs nine times this season.

Evansville (32-60) got out to a 5-0 first inning lead before the Grizzlies came back. It is the 33rd comeback win for the Grizzlies this season.

Ryan Sullivan and Jeff Vincent each turned in a game high three hits and two RBIs. Sullivan hit his 11th home run of the season in the second. Vincent hit his sevnth of the year in the fourth. Manny Paula was 2-4 with a pair of home runs.

Mike Breyman was 2-5. He hit his 20th home run of the year in the fifth inning. It was the 56th of his Frontier League career, tying him with Grizzlies' coach Darin Kinsolving for fourth on the all-time list.

Dustin Roberts was 1-4 with his 29th home run of the season. The two-run shot gave him 72 RBIs for the season, tying the single-season franchise record set by Breyman in the 2005 season.

Stephen Holdren was 2-4 with his 21st home run of the year in he eighth inning.

Scott Chambers earned his first win as a professional. Chambers tossed 1.2 innings in relief. He allowed a run on three hits. Jason Herman started and lasted just four innings, allowing seven runs, five earned, on eight hits.

The Grizzlies begin a four-game split series Thursday night at River City. The two teams will play Thursday and Friday at T.R. Hughes Ballpark, before finishing the season with games Saturday and Sunday at GCS Ballpark. Game time Thursday night is 7:05 p.m
