
Grizzlies Opening Weekend at Maverik Center begins Friday

West Valley City, Utah - It's game week for the Utah Grizzlies as they begin the 2018-19 regular season at Maverik Center against the Rapid City Rush on October 12th and 13th.
The Grizzlies will play as an affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche for the first time.
Utah finished up the preseason with a 1-1 record after winning the preseason finale on October 6th on a Caleb Herbert game winner in a shootout. Cole Ully also tallied a goal in that game. Ully had 19 goals and 21 assists for the Idaho Steelheads in the 2017-18 season. Ully has 121 games of AHL experience.
Grizzlies Face-off Luncheon is on October 10th at Maverik Center. Doors open at 11:45 am. Lunch will be served as the 2018-19 Grizzlies are officially announced. The team's new warm-up jersey will also be introduced during the luncheon.
Friday, October 12th is opening night. It's the first AFCU Friday with tickets starting at $8 for AFCU members paying with AFCU Debit/Credit Card. There are 11 AFCU Friday's on the year. There's also a magnetic schedule giveaway courtesy of Zions Bank.
There is a postgame skate with the team after the game on Saturday the 13th. It's the first of 3 postgame skates of the season.
With the first win of the regular season, head coach Tim Branham breaks the Utah Grizzlies record for wins by a coach. His assistant this year once again is the team's all-time leading scorer, Ryan Kinasewich. Teigan Zahn is taking the role of player/assistant coach this year. Zahn scored a personal career high 7 goals for the Grizzlies during the 2013-14 season.
