Utah Grizzlies News Release

WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH * The Utah Grizzlies announced today that Chris Haggin will join the team as the public address announcer for the 2004-05 season. As the PA announcer, Haggin will fulfill several important roles for the Grizzlies. Haggin will be the voice of the team while on the ice, represent the Grizzlies sponsors, teach the game of hockey to the fans and, most importantly, create a non-stop, Utah Grizzlies brand of excitement.

Chris Haggin is a single, West Valley native who resides in Taylorsville and has been a hockey fan for many years. *As a fan of hockey since the 5th grade and a loyal supporter of both the Utah Grizzlies and the Salt Lake Golden Eagles, I can tell you that I am unbelievably excited about the opportunity the Grizzlies have afforded me in becoming the new public address announcer for the team.* Haggin began playing Utah youth hockey in the 5th grade and spent time between the pipes as a goalie for Granger High School. Since then his passion for the game at all levels has continued to grow.

Haggin has extensive experience in radio and will be right at home behind the mic at center ice. Haggin, who goes by the nickname *The Red Rocker,* has been involved with radio since 1983 and has followed his ambition to several stations in Utah. His resume consists of the old Z-93 classic rock station and he currently is on air-talent for KBER 101.

Haggin expressed his excitement about being part of the Grizzlies and he hopes to make the game exciting for the fans and his son Alex who will shortly turn 5 years old. *I believe that fans of the Utah Grizzlies are the best around and I should know, I've spent every year since the ‘E' Center opened up there in section 102 with my gang of hockey freaks, so I know firs-hand about the passionate fans who come out to support the team. I can't wait to do whatever I can as a PA guy to make watching Grizzlies hockey as exciting as possible.*

The Grizzlies open the 2004-05 season on Wednesday, October 13th when they host the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks. For ticket information call (801) 988-PUCK.
