
Grizzlies fall in 12

The Rockford RiverHawks used three two-out singles in the bottom of the 12th Monday night to defeat the Grizzlies 3-2 at Road Ranger Stadium.
The Grizzlies (20-19) led 2-1 before the âHawks got a run on a pinch hit home run in the bottom of the ninth inning.
John Alonso doubled to drive in Stephen Holdren in the second to put the Grizzlies up 1-0. Alonso finished the night 3-4 with the RBI.
Rockford (19-20) tied the game with a run on three hits in the third inning.
Chris Pecora walked with the bases loaded in the fifth to go up 2-1. It stayed that way until the bottom of the ninth.
Robert Sabates hit the home run in the ninth to knot the game and send it to extra innings.
James Hertel (0-1) retired the first two hitters in the bottom of the ninth before allowing three straight hits. Jason James lined a ball into left to give Rockford the win.
Derek Blacksher started the game for the Grizzlies. Blacksher went seven innings allowing just a run on eight hits.
The Grizzlies return home to begin a three-game series against the River City Rascals Tuesday at GCS Ballpark.
