Grizzlies drop second straight

The Traverse City Beach Bums (6-5) took the second of a three-game series Sunday night from the Gateway Grizzlies (5-6). TC defeated the Grizzlies 6-4 in front of 2,936 at Wuerfel Park in Traverse City, MI.

The Grizzlies took an early lead with a run in the top of the first. The Beach Bums came back with three in the second and would never trail.

TC led 4-2 in the sixth when the Grizzlies got RBIs from Kevin House and Freddy Lopez to tie the game at 4. The Beach Bums added two more in the bottom of the inning for the win.

House was the offensive star for the second night a row for the Grizzlies. He was 3-5 with a double, two singles and an RBI. Greg Isaacson was 2-4. Jason Arrowood was 2-3. Rob Wirth was 1-5 and added an RBI.

Andy Galle (0-1) suffered the loss in relief for the Grizzlies. Galle went three innings allowing two runs on four hits. He struck out one. Scott Nicholson started for the Grizzlies. Nicholson allowed four runs on five hits in just three innings of work. Anthony Rebyanski finished the game for the Grizzlies with two innings of scoreless relief. He gave up just one hit and struck out three.

The Grizzlies will try to salvage a win from the series as the two teams finish the series with a 6:05 p.m. (central time) game Monday night in Traverse City, MI.
