EVANSVILLE, IN- The Evansville Otters defeat the Gateway Grizzlies 5-3 Wednesday night in game two of a three-game series at Bosse Field.
The Grizzlies (41-36) took a 1-0 lead in the first. Robbie Minor reached on an error to lead off the game. He scored later in the inning on a groundout by Carter McQuigg.
Evansville (33-44) scored four unanswered runs to take a 4-1 lead into the eighth inning.
The Grizzlies got a pair of unearned runs in the eighth thanks to three Evansville errors. Joseph Scaperotta grounded out to drive in the final run of the night for the Grizzlies.
Scaperotta finished 1-4 with the RBI.
Justin Lilly (6-3) suffered the loss, allowing four runs on six hits. He struck out five.
The Grizzlies and Otters will wrap up the three-game series Thursday night at Bosse Field. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
