Grand Rapids Griffins News Release
Grand Rapids Griffins (6-4-0-0) vs. Chicago Wolves (5-6-0-1)
TONIGHT 7 p.m. Van Andel Arena
* The Griffins, who are off to their best home start ever at 5-0, take aim tonight at what would be their first-ever sweep of a six-game homestand when they host the first of just three visits by the Chicago Wolves this season.
* Former Detroit Red Wings Chris Chelios and Manny Legace, who spent conditioning stints with Grand Rapids in 2008-09 and 2005-06, respectively, are now members of the Wolves, as is Drew MacIntyre, who helped man the Griffins' pipes from 2004-06. Chelios has registered seven points (1-6-7) and a team-high plus-eight rating in six games with Chicago, while both Legace (2-2-1, 1 SO, 2.70 GAA, 0.914%) and MacIntyre (3-4-0, 2.73 GAA, 0.911%) have been solid in net.
* The Griffins have won five straight games since their 1-4 start, while the Wolves are 4-1-0-1 since replacing their coaching staff in late October.
* Tonight's featured promotions include Dollar Beers and Dollar Dogs from 6-8 p.m. (while supplies last), College Night presented by McFadden's, the D-ZONE presented by WGRD 97.9 FM, organ music by Dale Zieger, a post-game skate, and a Huntington post-game autograph session at the Griffins bench with Sergei Kolosov, Daniel Larsson and Sebastien Piche.
