
P-Bruins fall to Wolf Pack 5-3

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins fell to the Hartford Wolf Pack 5-3 Friday evening at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. The P-Bruins got goals from Jamie Arniel and two goals from Mikko Lehtonen. The P-Bruins return to action at home at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Sunday at 4:05 p.m. for a Family Game against the Hershey Bears.
The P-Bruins took a 1-0 lead at the 5:02 mark of the opening period. Andrew Bodnarchuk held the puck behind his own net and sent it up the boards for Adam McQuaid. He found Arniel cutting into the zone and fed him the puck, giving him a breakaway. Arniel slapped the puck into the back of the net for his first goal of the season. Hartford tied the game at one at the 6:25 mark. Brodie Dupont scored his second goal of the season, while Ryan Garlock recorded the lone assist. The game went into the first intermission tied at one.
The P-Bruins retook the lead at the 6:48 mark of the second period. Andy Wozniewski held the puck behind the net and dropped it off for Jeff Penner. He sent it to Lehtonen, giving him a partial breakaway down the left wing. He pushed the puck into the net for his fourth goal of the season. The Wolf Pack tied the game at two at the 8:39 mark. Jordan Owens netted his second goal of the season, while Corey Locke and Pierre-Alexandre Parenteau picked up the assists. Hartford took its first lead of the game at the 13:40 mark. Evgeny Grachev tallied his fourth goal of the season, with Brent Henley and Dale Weise getting the assists. The Wolf Pack grabbed a two-goal advantage at the 16:22 mark. Dupont scored his second goal of the game and third of the season, while Grachev had the lone assist. Hartford led 4-2 after two period.
The P-Bruins pulled within a goal at the 10:52 mark of the third period, while on the power play. Wozniewski took a shot from the blue line and the rebound went to Penner in the right face off circle. He passed it to Lehtonen in the left face off circle where he put the puck into the net for his fifth goal of the season and second of the game. The Wolf Pack added an empty net goal at the 19:16 mark. Parenteau tallied his ninth goal of the season, while Owens and Locke recorded the assists. Hartford went on to the 5-3 victory.
Dany Sabourin stopped 22 of 26 shots for the P-Bruins, while Chad Johnson made 29 saves for the Wolf Pack. The P-Bruins were 1-for-1 on the power play and 1-for-1 on the penalty kill.
Providence hits the road for their lone road game of the weekend, Saturday at the Tsongas Arena versus the Lowell Devils at 7:00 p.m. The P-Bruins wrap up the weekend at home at The Dunk Sunday against the Bears for a Family Game at 4:05 p.m. Receive one ticket, hot dog and soda for one low price.
