
Griffins Re-Sign Skarperud, Schneekloth

Grand Rapids, Mich. - The Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League on Wednesday re-signed right wing Tim Skarperud (SCAR-prood) and defenseman Aaron Schneekloth (SHNEE-cloth).
Skarperud, 25, had a successful rookie campaign for the 2002-03 Griffins, posting 29 points (12-17-29) in 68 regular season games and contributing one assist in six playoff contests. In 78 career outings with Grand Rapids, Skarperud has tallied 36 points (18-18-36).
The 25-year-old Schneekloth joined the Griffins late last season, going scoreless in two appearances. He recorded 30 points (8-22-30) in 41 games with the ECHL's South Carolina Stingrays, and spent time on the Griffins' In Residence list during the 2003 Calder Cup playoffs.
Skarperud and Schneekloth were teammates on the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux team that won the 2000 NCAA championship.
