Houston finished fourth in the Western Conference standings and boast an 8-1-4 (WLD) record in all competitions since returning to MLS play after Leagues Cup on Aug. 20, while outscoring opponents 30-9 during that stretch.
Dorsey scored the opening goal in Houston's victory on Saturday after he forced a corner kick in the opening stretch of the match. Captain Héctor Herrera found the defender at the near post for the opening goal of the match. Dorsey secured the third road victory of the season for the Dynamo in the 72nd minute and scored his first brace in league play.
Carrasquilla scored minutes into the second half and tallied an assist on Dorsey's second goal. This was the second goal of the week for Carrasquilla, who returned from international play earlier in the week. The Panamanian midfielder scored the opening goal in a 3-0 victory over Guatemala on Tuesday, Oct. 17.
Twelve Houston players were named to the Team of the Matchday this season, including Dorsey (Matchday 33 and 38), Carrasquilla (Matchday 27 and 38), Herrera (Matchday 4, 15, 18, 20, 24, 29, 33 and 37), Nelson Quiñónes (Matchday 37), forward Aliyu Ibrahim (Matchday 28), defender Franco Escobar (Matchday 7, 18 and 27), forward Corey Baird (Matchday 27), forward Thor Úlfarsson (Matchday 20), goalkeeper Steve Clark (Matchday 11), defender Daniel Steres (Matchday 9), forward Amine Bassi (Matchday 7) and midfielder Artur (Matchday 5).
