Sioux Falls, S.D. (December 8, 2006) - The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that guard Vincent Grier has been assigned to the Sioux Falls Skyforce by the NBA Development League as the team's second allocation player. Sioux Falls also waived forward Joseph Works.
Grier, a 6-5, 207-pound guard from the University of Minnesota, was signed as a rookie free agent by the Miami Heat on July 8, 2006. He played in six preseason games for Miami, averaging 12.0 minutes, 3.3 points, 2.8 rebounds and 0.5 steals. His top performance was an 11-point, eight rebound showing at Orlando on October 24.
After beginning his collegiate career at UNC-Charlotte, Grier transferred to Dixie State Junior College before finishing his career at Minnesota. In 114 college games he averaged 31.3 minutes, 14.0 points, 5.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists.
Works played in five games for Sioux Falls, averaging 5.0 minutes, 2.6 points and 1.8 rebounds.
