POPS TO FLYERS: The Dallas Mavericks have assigned forward Pops Mensah-Bonsu to their D-League affiliate, the Fort Worth Flyers. Mensah-Bonsu has played in one game this season for the Mavericks, grabbing one rebound in three minutes. He is the fifth NBA player assigned to a D-League affiliate this season and joins Philadelphia 76ers forward Bobby Jones and guard Louis Williams, as well as Charlotte Bobcats center Ryan Hollins, in Fort Worth. Denver Nuggets guard Julius Hodge is on assignment to the Colorado 14ers.
RING THE BELL: Albuquerque guard Troy Bell recorded his best game as a T-Bird against Anaheim on Thursday, scoring 23 points, 20 of which came in the second half. Bell converted 8-of-11 FGA and collected eight rebounds as well.
