Ohio Valley Greyhounds News Release
The Ohio Valley Greyhounds look to bounce back from another loss as they take on Fort Wayne, the squad that dealt O.V. its first setback in 27 games.
The Greyhounds come into the game still leading the Atlantic East despite their first divisional loss in almost two years. At 8-2, the Greyhounds lead the Carolina Stingrays by two and-a-half games overall in the division. Fort Wayne stands just a half-game behind Lexington in the Atlantic North with a 6-4 record.
The Greyhounds fail to forget their first season matchup with Fort Wayne, as the Freedom turned the immaculate into mortal with a stunning 43-35 upset of the Greyhounds. Fort Wayne led by as much as 24 and held on despite the Hounds outscoring the Freedom 19-3 near the end of regulation.
A crowd of almost 8,000 saw the Freedom defense hold O.V. to under 50 yards rushing as well as picking off QB Shane Franzer three times.
Fort Wayne is coming off of a crucial division win over Show Me, which catapulted the Freedom into a second-place tie with the Believers.
Meanwhile, the Hounds come into the game with a frown after being stunned by the Atlantic City CardSharks. Fourteen unanswered points in the fourth quarter led the Sharks to a 33-31 victory. Rayshawn Askew rushed for 125 yards despite the loss.
Radio: WRKP-FM (96.5) serves as the flagship station with Jim Huggins calling the action.
