Atlantic City CardSharks News Release

Atlantic City, NJ, June 4, 2004 – The CardSharks will host the Evansville Blue Cats on Saturday, June 5th at 7:30 PM in Historic Boardwalk Hall. The ‘Sharks (4-5) come into the game winners of 3 out of their last 4, and just pulled off an upset victory over the Ohio Valley Greyhounds, 33-31. The Blue Cats (4-4) lost at Lexington, 69-28.

The first meeting between the two clubs featured a fairly even balance between the rushing and passing game. The CardSharks rushed for 51 yards and 5 touchdowns, while the Blue Cats ran the ball for 80 yards and 2 touchdowns. Quarterback Ramon Robinson led the way on the ground for the ‘Cats with 49 yards rushing.

"Evansville has an explosive offense and a tough defensive unit," stated General Manager and Head Coach Mike Siani. "It will be critical that we can get out of the gate fast, and not get caught up in the success we had last week."

The CardSharks are looking forward to the return of Defensive Back Jermain Johnson. Jamison originally injured his foot several weeks ago in Evansville and is listed as probable for this week's contest. Despite the addition of Johnson, the defensive secondary will again be short-handed with the loss of Defensive Back Wade Fauntleroy. Fauntleroy suffered a broken hand in the victory against the Greyhound and will sit out at least one game. Finally, the club added Wide Receiver Mike Osborn from Rowan University. Wide Receivers Shawn Foxworth and Michael Forest were waived earlier in the week to make room for the addition of Osborn.
