Greyhounds Try for Two in a Row

Ohio Valley Greyhounds News Release


The Ohio Valley Greyhounds of United Indoor Football (UIF) will look capitalize on the momentum created by their first victory as they prepare to host the Bloomington Extreme this Saturday at Wesbanco Arena. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 PM EST.

In last weeks 60-53 victory over Peoria, quarterback Mattew Kohn set a new UIF record for most passing yards in a game by throwing for an amazing 314 yards passing and 6 touchdowns. Matt also rushed for 80-yards and two touchdowns. Kohn's 394 net offensive yards is also a UIF record. For his efforts Kohn was named UIF Offensive Player of the Week.

Also on the offensive side of the ball, James Taylor continues to lead the UIF in pass receptions with 37 and running back Derick Stickles is one of only four players in the UIF to score a touchdown by rushing, receiving and kickoff return.

Linebacker Brock Dodrill made 6 solo tackles, 5 assisted tackles and one interception that he returned 17-yards for a touchdown in the victory over Peoria. Brock is leading the Greyhounds in the four games this season with 24 solo tackles, 17 assisted, one tackle for a loss, one interception and two blocked kicks thus far. He ranks second in the UIF with 8.1 tackles a game. Dodrill was named UIF Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts against the Rough Riders.

Bloomington (2-2) scored the go-ahead touchdown with 1:15 left in their game versus Evansville last week off of an 8-yard TD run by Dust Burk. Burk finished the game with 212 yards passing and 6TD's through the air. He also added 2 TD's on the ground.
