Greyhounds Open Camp Saturday

The Soo Greyhounds Hockey Club will unofficially begin the 2010/2011 OHL season just over 48 hours from today - on Saturday, August 28th - when registration takes place for Training Camp 2010. The opening day of camp will see 51 Greyhound hopefuls arrive in Sault Ste. Marie and take part in off-ice testing before hitting the ice for the first time Sunday morning.

Due to the amount of players scheduled to attend, three teams have been created for the beginning of camp. The rosters and itinerary are as mentioned below:**please note player's jersey numbers for training camp are noted in parentheses

TEAM WHITE

7:00 p.m. Annual Red & White GameFollowing camp the locals will take part in one team practice before heading west for the pre-season tournament in Everett, Washington. While there the Hounds will play the Everett Silvertips (Friday, September 3 - 7:00 p.m. PST), Portland Winterhawks (Saturday, September 4 - 3:00 p.m. PST) and Tri-City Americans (Sunday, September 5th - 3:00 p.m. PST).

The Hounds first OHL pre-season game will take place on Friday, September 10th when they place host to their I-75 rivals the Saginaw Spirit. Game time is 7:35 p.m. at the Essar Centre.
