
Greyhounds announce four new signings

The Ohio Valley Greyhounds today announced the signing of four players to their roster. One of the players is a returning defensive standout from the 2005 season and the other three will be new to the Greyhound organization.
The returning Greyhound is Jay Agnew, a 6' 3" - 350 pound defensive lineman and outside linebacker from California University of Pennsylvania. Jay attended California Univ. from 2000-2003 and distinguished himself as an impact player for the Vulcan team. Jay returns for his second year for the Greyhounds.
New to the Greyhound organization for 2006 and expected to make a major contribution on defense is Warren Lott, a 6' 3" - 250 pound defensive linebacker. Lott attended Clemson as a true freshman and gathered 78 tackles ("A Lott of Tackles") that lead him to his second-team All-American ranking his sophomore year. Lott was selected the Most Valuable Player in the Sea Island Bowl, and rated 44th best junior college player in the country. Lott signed with Big 12 Champion Kansas State University Division 1 as a defensive linebacker. Lott most recently played professionally with the Louisiana Land Sharks and for the Oklahoma Crude where he led the team in rushing. Lott currently resides in Warner Robbins, Georgia.
Also new to the "Hounds for 2006 is Josh Pyles, a 5' 11" wide receiver and kick returner. Josh attended Shadyside high school where he was 1st team All Valley, 1st Team Eastern District, and All Ohio Honorable Mention through the 2001-2004 seasons. Pyles earned Outstanding Player awards his junior and senior years while amassing 2,000 yards receiving with 30 touchdowns his last 3 years. As a member of the Shadyside squad, Josh helped the team reach back-to-back playoff games and in 2001 he received Player of the Year honors when his team reached the Ohio State Semifinals. During his senior year as the team Co-Captain, Pyles had 80 receptions with a 25 yard per catch average and participated in the OVIAC All-Star game. In addition to being an outstanding football player, Pyles was also an excellent State high school track star earning many individual honors.
Another new Greyhound with local roots is Cliff Sachini, a 6' 0", 190 pound wide receiver and Defensive Back who played his college career at the University of Dayton. During his football career at Dayton Sachini recorded 1,991 yards rushing, 271 yards receiving and 20 Career touchdowns. Cliff is originally from Follansbee, WV and has worked out with the Cleveland Browns and Ottawa. This will be his 1st season with the Greyhounds.
Training camp for the Greyhounds begins March 9, 2006. The Greyhounds 8th season opens Friday March 24, 2006 with an away game with the Lexington Horsemen in Lexington, Kentucky. The Ohio Valley Greyhounds Home Opener is scheduled for Sunday, April 2, 2006 at 6:30 pm at WesBanco Arena against the Evansville BlueCats from Evansville, Indiana.
New season tickets are now on sale for all 7 home games and may be purchased by check, money order, or credit card.
