December 14, 2006 - ECHL (ECHL)
Reading Royals News Release
Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, today announced right wing Greg Hogeboom ("HOE geh boom") was named the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for December 4 through 10, 2006.
Hogeboom (6'0"/204 lbs), a fifth round pick of the Los Angeles Kings in 2002, scored three goals, assisted on six others, and played to a +4 as the Royals went 3 - 1 - 0 in four games last week. Hogeboom, a third year pro who had a stellar four year career at Miami University (Ohio), racked up three multi-point games, including back-to-back one goal-one assist performances against the Cincinnati Cyclones a week ago Wednesday (December 6; loss, 3-2) and Friday (December 8; win, 5-2). After scoring the Royals' second goal in the 3-2 overtime win in Johnstown last Saturday, Hogeboom racked up a career high four assist performance in Reading's 7-4 win over Trenton on Sunday. Hogeboom, who is currently riding a six game point streak (3g - 8a = 11pts), leads the Royals with 32 points (12g - 20a = 32pts) and is also playing to a (+8) in 22 games this year with Reading. In his last 41 ECHL games over the past two seasons, Hogeboom has racked up 59 points (21g - 38a = 59pts). A case of pucks will be donated on behalf of Hogeboom to a Reading area youth hockey organization by In Glas Co, the exclusive puck supplier for the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01, In Glas Co has donated more than 15,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
The Royals begin a five game road trip in Wheeling on Friday (7:30 pm). Royals' game night broadcasts can be heard live on ESPN Radio 1240 am (and on the internet through the Royals' website, www.royalshockey.com), beginning thirty minutes before the opening face-off. Streaming video is also available for $6.00 per game through the B2 Networks, which can be accessed through the Royals' website.
