Greensboro Swarm, Truliant Federal Credit Union to Honor First Responders at Community Heroes Night

(GREENSBORO, N.C.) - The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, announced today that Community Heroes Night on Saturday, February 26, at the Fieldhouse at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex will once again be presented by Truliant Federal Credit Union. Local first responders will be honored for their service and sacrifices in the second edition of this theme night put on by the Swarm and Truliant.
"This is our second Community Heroes Night, presented by Truliant Federal Credit Union, to recognize selfless individuals who continue to keep our communities safe," Swarm President Steve Swetoha said. "This particular partnership with Truliant gives us the platform to honor some of the many leaders who serve our community on a daily basis. Our goal with Truliant is not only to create a memorable experience at our game but to highlight these heroes for their dedication, passion and tireless efforts."
On February 14, executives from both the Swarm and Truliant, as well as mascots, visited the police department and fire department to hand-deliver tickets for first responders to attend the game. Representatives from both groups will attend and be involved in the presentation at Community Heroes Night.
The game will feature a number of recognitions and honors for first responders. Special on-court activations and game entertainment elements will highlight community heroes in attendance. The night will culminate with a special basketball competition between the police department and fire department at halftime.
"We are excited to partner with the Swarm to celebrate the heroes in our community," said Truliant Federal Credit Union Director of Community Affairs Atticus Simpson. "These heroes have been so instrumental in doing their best to keep everybody safe. First responders and their role in the community, and in local relationships, are close to the core of who we are at Truliant. This is a small thing we can do to recognize the accomplishments of these unsung heroes."
