
Greensboro Grasshoppers Recieve South Atlantic League Awards

Greensboro, N.C. - The South Atlantic League has announced the recipients of the 2015 Outstanding Achievement Awards, presenting the Greensboro Grasshoppers with three of the honors.
The Grasshoppers received the 2015 Community Service Award, Sports Turf Manager of the Year and Best Playing Field Award.
The Community Service Award, awarded to the Hoppers for the second time in the last two years, is presented to a club that has demonstrated an outstanding, on(Bgoing commitment to charitable service, philanthropy and leadership within their community. The Grasshoppers will be the South Atlantic League's overall team nominee for the John Henry Moss
Community Service Award, which is presented each year at the Baseball Winter Meetings.
"It's a very prestigious award and it's something we take a lot of pride in," said Grasshoppers President Donald Moore. "We are involved in so many charitable organizations and youth initiatives around Greensboro that are very important us and we try to help as many causes as we can."
Jake Holloway received the Sports Turf Manager of the Year for the second time in his career, recognizing his work and management of the playing field.
NewBridge Bank Park was distinguished as the 2015 Best Playing Field in the league, an honor it last received in 2005. This award is voted on by all fourteen South Atlantic League visiting team Field Managers.
"Jake Holloway and Kaid Musgrave work extremely hard year-round to make this playing surface top-notch," Moore said. "I am proud to see their dedication, effort and attention to detail recognized by the league."
A formal presentation of the awards will be made during the South Atlantic League fall meetings.
