GreenJackets Drop Game Two

July 28, 2018 - South Atlantic League (SAL) - Augusta GreenJackets News Release

North Augusta, SC: The Augusta GreenJackets, South Atlantic League affiliate of San Francisco Giants, lost 5-1 to the Columbia Fireflies on Saturday night.

The Fireflies got out to a quick start, putting up five runs in the top of the second inning. This was topped with the first inside-the-park home run at SRP Park. Hansel Moreno came around to score off a quirky bounce off the right field wall.

The GreenJackets would only be able to put up one run in the bottom of the sixth inning when Malique Ziegler knocked in Rob Calabrese on an RBI single.

On the mound for the GreenJackets, Stetson Woods impressed out of the bullpen. He went 5 1/3 innings, only allowing two hits to the Fireflies. He also struck out four Columbia batters.

The GreenJackets (14-22) will be back in action tomorrow against the Columbia Fireflies at 5:05 pm.

After the eight game road trip, the GreenJackets will be back at SRP Park for seven game homestand! Promotions include Boy Scout night, Military Appreciation Night, and National Wing Day Festival! Get your tickets now!
