
Greene leads Mobile win

GREENVILLE _ Former Clemson University All-American Khalil Greene collected four hits and Cory Stewart (3-2) won his third straight start, leading the Mobile BayBears to a 7-4 Southern League victory over the Greenville Braves Friday at Municipal Stadium.
Greene, the San Diego Padres' No. 1 selection in the June 2002 draft now in his first full professional season, delivered an RBI double in the that tied the game in the third inning and another run-producing hit as Mobile scored four times in the fourth. Greene raised his average from .218 to .248.
Stewart fell behind 2-1 when he walked four batters in the second inning _ two in a row with the bases load _ but retired the next 10 batters. The 23-year-old left-hander allowed one hit in five innings.
Rusty Tucker pitched the ninth to earn his eighth save. Mobile (13-14), which edged the G-Braves with a ninth-inning comeback Thursday night, has won 10 of 14 games since a 3-10 start. Greenville (12-14) has lost five of its last six games.
Greenville starter Matt Belisle (1-4) suffered his third straight loss. He surrendered 10 hits in four innings.
The teams meet Saturday at 7:15 p.m. in the third game of the four-game set, with Chris Rojas (1-2) scheduled to start for Mobile against Greenville's Adam Wainwright (1-2). The first 1,000 fans will receive a free foam finger. The homestand ends with a 1:15 p.m. game Sunday.
