Green Bay Blizzard News Release

For the first time in franchise history, the Green Bay Blizzard has paced the rest of the league in attendance. On Friday night, the Blizzard played to a crowd of 6,576, which was the largest crowd in the league for week 4 of the 2006 season.

After 2 home games, the Blizzard has hosted crowds of 7,256 (against the Albany Conquest on May 31st) and 6,576 (against the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz on April 21st). Their total attendance of 13,832 and average of 6,916 are the second highest totals in the league.

"It's the '9th Man,'" said General Manager Jim Kraft. "The fans in the stands are like the 9th player on the field, and we've got the best in the league. We've always known that Green Bay was a great football town, and our fans are showing it."

Blizzard President Brian Noble believes that there are several reasons for the increase in fan interest. "First and foremost, the lower ticket prices have really helped us," he said. "Plus, we've got the best promotions going. The Southern University Marching Band was a huge hit! People are starting to see that our games are more than just a football game. A Blizzard game is an event, with a tailgate party, live music, games, promotions, giveaways, all kinds of stuff. The fact that it's all put together into a package that's affordable for an entire family is not a mistake - that's exactly what we wanted to do. Leading the league in attendance is just an added bonus for us."

Blizzard fans will have another chance to see the Blizzard in action at home on Saturday, May 13th against the Macon Knights. Kickoff is at 7:30pm, and the doors will open at 6:30pm. For more information, or to get your Green Bay Blizzard tickets, contact the Blizzard office at (920) 405-1264.
