Wolves' general manager, head coach, others resign

The Manchester Wolves arenafootball2 team announced today that changes are in the very near future for the organization, starting with the resignation of Wolves' General Manager Angelo Mazzella and Head Coach Ben Bennett.

Effective Saturday, April 29, Bennett will hand over his responsibilities as Wolves' head coach to 7-year-old Joseph Ricco, while Mazzella will assign 12-year-old Tykre Perry as the new general manager of the Wolves.

"This is going to be lots of fun," said Perry, of becoming the Wolves' new GM. "My first act as Wolves' General Manager will be proclaiming Saturday April 29 th as 'Kids Run The Wolves Day'! On Saturday only, any youth aged 13 and under will pay a new 'Kids Run The Wolves Day' rate of just $5.00 for any seat in the Verizon Wireless Arena!"

The moves come un-expectantly as the #7 ranked Wolves are currently 2-1 and sitting in second place upon the East Division.

"I'm excited to have this opportunity to be involved with the Wolves," said Ricco, who was in attendance scouting out his players during the Wolves' 59-45 win last Saturday, over the Albany Conquest. "I have my playbook ready to go for this week's game against the Pioneers."

In addition to Mazzella and Bennett, several other key Wolves' staff members will also be stepping down, including the entire Wolves' ownership group, Wolves' public address announcer Todd Wallace, Wolves' radio broadcaster Dick Lutsk, and Wolves' equipment manager Jean Vallee.

As part of 'Kids Run The Wolves Day' youths ages 7-13 will be taking various roles throughout the Wolves' organization during this Saturday's game against the #1 ranked Wilkes-Barre Scranton Pioneers (3-0) . The selected kids will have the opportunity to participate in game day activities with the assistance of current Wolves' staff members. Everyone in attendance will also receive a FREE Canobie Lake Park pass the day of the game!!!

The following kids who will be taking over responsibilities within the Wolves' organization are as follows: Kevin Donahue, Brendan Frankfort, Eric Frankfort, Sean Johnson, Connor Lemay, Marc Lessard, Julia Libby, Valerie Libby, Gianna Ricco, Joseph Ricco, Jesssica Shattuck, Samantha Shattuck, Abby Smith, Taylor Sullivan, Malcolm Sutton, Marquis Sutton, Michael Gourde, and Tykre Perry.

The Wolves take to Brady Sullivan Field at the Verizon Wireless Arena this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. against the W-B Scranton Pioneers for Canobie Lake Park Night / 'Kids Run The Wolves Day' presented by The Union Leader, WZID and Canobie Lake Park. Everyone in attendance will receive a FREE Canobie Lake Park Pass!!!
