Green Bay Has Three Selected All-IFL
June 19, 2012 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Green Bay Blizzard News Release
The Indoor Football League has announced the top players across the league for the 2012 season. The Green Bay Blizzard have three players that earned All-IFL honors, as voted by the coaches: La'Ron Council, First Team Running Back; BJ Hill, Second Team Defensive Back and Special Teams Kick Returner; and Seth Smalls, Second Team Offensive Line.
Council, fresh off becoming the first 1,000 yard rusher in IFL history, earned First Team honors. Council set IFL records in rushing attempts, yards and touchdowns this season. He also broke Blizzard rushing records for a single game, season and career. Council has carried the ball 256 times for 1,040 yards and 32 touchdowns.
B.J. Hill has played a key role in Blizzard games, whether he is returning kicks on special teams or making the big interception on defense. Most teams decide to kick away from Hill, but when they make the mistake of kicking to him, he takes advantage of it. Hill is averaging over 23 yards per return and has four touchdowns. On defense, Hill has 62 total tackles, nine interceptions (one returned for a touchdown) and two forced fumbles. B.J. was named First Team Special Teams last season.
Smalls helped anchor an offensive line that paved the way for the IFL's top rushing offense. The Blizzard have 1,458 total rushing yards and 49 rushing touchdowns.
