
Edge Set for Opening Round Playoff at Green Bay Saturday

Bloomington, IL, 6/18/12 - The Bloomington Edge, presented by Heller Stores, are off to the playoffs. They Edge hold the #3 seed in the United Conference with a record of 10-4 and will square off with #2 Green Bay Blizzard (11-3) in the opening round. The game is scheduled for Saturday June 23 at 7 pm CT and it will be played at Brown County Arena in Green Bay, WI.
The Edge went 0-2 against Green Bay this season. On April 28 the Edge fell 69-56 at green Bay. Dusty Burk threw for 232 yards with 7 touchdown passes. Green Bay's LaRon Council rushed for 113 yards and 3 touchdowns. The following week the two played in Bloomington. The Blizzard won 34-21. Dusty Burk threw a touchdown pass and also ran one in himself. Andre Raymond scored the other Edge touchdown on a rush. LaRon Council rushed for 79 yards in that game with no touchdowns.
The Edge had a record setting night in their final game of the regular season as they beat Cedar Rapids 7464 in Bloomington on June 8. Dusty Burk passed 10,000 career passing yards. He nearly broke his team single season passing record from 2008 with 2,871. He came up 23 yards short and finished with 2,849. The week before Burk broke his team single season passing touchdown record. He had 50 in 2008 and finishes with 57.
Andre Raymond had been sitting on 16 rush touchdowns before the team's final game. He needed just one to break his team single season record for rushing touchdowns. He had 16 last season and with the two rush touchdowns in the final game of this season he set a new record of 18. Raymond also broke the team's single season rushing record and finished the season with 488 yards.
Ameer Ismail led the IFL in tackles this season with 167. He finished third in solo tackles with 83. Ismail obliterated the team's single-season tackles mark of 106, set by Winston Taylor in 2006.
