Grady Named Russell Athletic Offensive Player of the Week

SALT LAKE CITY - Utah Blaze QB Tommy Grady has been named the AFL's Russell Athletic Offensive Player of the Week after a stunning performance in a 75-67 victory over the Jacksonville Sharks. Last Friday, Grady put forth a spectacular effort against the reigning ArenaBowl champs by scoring 11 total touchdowns while helping Utah secure the win.
Against Jacksonville, Grady (6-7, 240, Utah) threw for 325 yards with 10 touchdowns and no interceptions while completing 76 percent of his pass attempts. He added six yards and another score on five carries. Under Grady's guidance, the offense was able to produce its most efficient outing of the season, as the Blaze scored on all 11 of its possessions.
"Our offensive line played great and gave me the time I needed to find my receivers," said Grady. "The receivers ran great routes and made it easier for me to get them the ball. This award is a great team accomplishment."
In five games this season, Grady has thrown for 1,533 yards with 35 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He's added 50 yards with four more scores on 16 rushing attempts, ranking among the AFL's top-10 leaders in rushing yards per game (10.0 avg). Grady's 39 total touchdowns are the most in the Arena Football League this season.
