
Gotham FC Updates Status of Svava Guðmundsdóttir

HARRISON, NJ - NJ/NY Gotham FC today announced that forward Svava Guðmundsdóttir's loan with SL Benfica has ended, and she will not rejoin Gotham FC due to an excused absence.
In 2023 with Gotham FC, Guðmundsdóttir earned seven appearances, including four starts during the regular season. In UKG NWSL Challenge Cup action, Guðmundsdóttir earned two starts, with one on April 19 against the Washington Spirit and another on May 3 against the North Carolina Courage.
Before joining the club, Guðmundsdóttir scored six goals in 22 games last season with SK Brann in Norway's top flight, the Toppserien, as her club finished first in the standings and qualified for the UEFA Women's Champions League. The 5-7 forward has played for the Icelandic Women's National Team since 2017 and has scored two goals in 36 appearances.
