
Gotham FC Forwards Midge Purce and Ifeoma Onumonu Earn International Call-Ups

HARRISON, NJ - NJ/NY Gotham FC today announced that forward Midge Purce will join the U.S. Women's National Team training camp and forward Ifeoma Onumonu will join the Nigerian Women's National Team for upcoming international friendlies.
Purce, who has three goals for Gotham FC this season, has 23 caps and four career goals for the USWNT and has played in three USWNT matches this year, most recently starting the 2023 SheBelieves Cup opener against Canada.
Purce will replace Rose Lavelle on the USWNT training camp roster for the upcoming friendly matches vs. South Africa in Cincinnati on Sept. 21 (7:30 p.m. ET), and Chicago on Sept. 24 (5:30 p.m. ET). Gotham FC teammate and defender Kelley O'Hara will remain with the club to continue her progression to full fitness, and will be replaced by Angel City FC defender M.A. Vignola on the USWNT training camp roster.
Both USWNT matches against South Africa will be broadcasts on TNT in English and Universo and Peacock in Spanish. The match in Cincinnati on Sept on Sept. 21 at TQL Stadium wll begin at 7:30 p.m. ET, with broadcast pre-game show on TNT at 7 p.m. ET. The match in Chicago on Sept. 24 will kick off a 5:30 p.m. ET, with TNT pre-game show coverage at 5 p.m. ET.
Onumonu returns to the Nigeria National Team after appearing in four matches during the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, including starts against Canada (July 20), Australia (July 27), and England (Aug. 7). For club with Gotham FC this season, the forward has appeared in 12 matches, earning four starts, an assist, and five shots on goal.
Gotham FC will have four players on international duty with Purce (USA) and Onumonu (Nigeria) joining Bruninha (Brazil) and Lynn Williams (USA). Gotham FC forward Sinead Farrelly also earned the call-up from Ireland. However, the player will remain with the club.
