Gose Has Three Hits, Picks Up First Double-A RBI

New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release


(Manchester, NH)---John Tolisano drove in the tying run with a seventh inning double, but was gunned down at the plate trying to score on a single by Anthony Gose and the Fisher Cats fell in 11 innings- 3-2 to the Reading Phillies on Tuesday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.

Tim Kennelly walked with the bases loaded in the top of the 11th inning to give the Phillies the win. Alan Farina (0-1) took the loss for the Fisher Cats.

Justin De Fratus (1-0) worked three perfect innings to earn the win for the Phillies. He struck out six batters, including the side in the bottom of the 11th.

New Hampshire (3-3) opened the scoring in the bottom of the third inning. Tolisano walked and moved to third on a single by Jonathan Diaz. Gose followed with an RBI single to put the Fisher Cats up 1-0.

Reading (4-2) moved in front in the top of the fourth inning. Cody Overbeck scored from second on a single by Stephan Susdorf to tie the game at 1-1. Susdorf, who advanced to second on the throw to the plate in an attempt to get Overbeck, scored on a single by Derrick Mitchell.

Zach Stewart started for the Fisher Cats, working 6.2 innings, allowing nine hits and two runs. He walked two and struck out three.

The Fisher Cats came back to tie in the last of the seventh inning. Mark Sobolewski singled and scored on Tolisano's double which ended the night for R-Phils starter Josh Zeid. After reliever B.J. Rosenberg walked Diaz, Gose singled but Tolisano was thrown out at the plate on a close call which went against the Fisher Cats.

The series and homestand concludes on Wednesday night at 6:35pm at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. RHP Rey Gonzalez (0-0, 0.00) starts for New Hampshire against Reading RHP Austin Hyatt (1-0, 1.80). Wednesday night is Oral Health Challenge Night, sponsored by Northeast Delta Dental. There will be a Chili Cookoff and fans can play USA Subs Baseball Bingo.
