Rookie forward Derek Hahn netted two goals and added an assist to lift the Amarillo Gorillas to a 5-4 shootout win over the El Paso Buzzards on Thursday night at the El Paso County Coliseum.

The Gorillas (11-8-0 for 22 points – 3rd in the NW Division) rallied from several one-goal deficits through out the contest and battled the Buzzards along the boards and in front of the net all night long.

Other marksmen for the Gorillas were Dorian Anneck, Ben Maidment and Henry Kuster. Maidment's goal tied the game up at 4-4 with about 13 minutes remaining in the third period. The Gorillas had all sorts of pressure and great scoring chances in the final 10 minutes but couldn't get the lead.

The Gorillas connected on two power play goals and improved their road record to 6-2-0 and are 7-3 in their last 10 games. Goaltender Shawn Degagne posted his fourth win of the season and has lowered his Goals Against Average to 3.12.

Collecting assists were Neil Posillico, Mark DeSantis, Ben Maidment, Brandon Carper, Brian Pellerin and Henry Kuster.

The Amarillo Gorillas are back in action tonight (Friday) when they host the Indianapois Ice at The Jungle in the Amarillo Civic Center at 7 p.m. It's Unique Solutions of Amarillo night and three lucky fans could score a new home computer system.
