Amarillo Gorillas News Release
AMARILLO, TX â It's the second last weekend of the 2004-2005 Central Hockey League regular season and the Southern Conference playoff positions are still too close to call.
The Amarillo Gorillas are into the home stretch with just five games left in their schedule including three on home ice and two on the road. Joe Ferras' charges hope to get back into the win column this weekend and solidify themselves as one of the four teams as they get set for two huge home games at The Jungle in the Amarillo Civic Center.
The Gorillas host the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs tomorrow night (Friday) at 7 p.m. These two teams have a tendency not to like each other and when they meet, it is always an exciting and thrilling game. It's the first annual book drive and fans are encouraged to bring two new children's books to the Gorillas Hockey Office or the Civic Center Box Office tomorrow on game day and receive a free child's ticket to the game. Children need to be accompanied by an adult and the offer is good for ages 3 to 15.
It's also Ladies' Night courtesy of Surprise Parties and there is a special night planned for those who have purchased tickets including dinner, a meet and greet with the players after the game and free entry into Graham's Central Station.
Fans can tune the game on 1440 Am The Score, beginning with the Farmer's Insurance Group Warm Up Show at 6:40 p.m. Amarillo Gorillas Hockey Presented by Bank of America follows at 7 p.m. The game is also available on the world wide web at www.amarillogorillas.com and www.chltv.com.
After taking a Saturday night off, the Gorillas resume action on Sunday when they host the hard charging Odessa Jackalopes at The Jungle at a special start time of 6 p.m.
It's the first annual Harley Night and the Gorillas will wear their specialty designed Harley jerseys. An Auction follows after the game and Tripps-Harley Davidson will have motorcycles on display in the upper concourse.
Weekday warrior night continues and fans can buy one ticket and receive a second ticket free. The game will be aired live on 1440 Am The Score beginning with the pre game show at 5:40 p.m. and then the face off at 6 p.m.
Gorillas' tickets can be purchased at the hockey office located at 1934 Civic Circle; Civic Center Box Office and at Panhandle Ticket Outlets including Randy's Music Mart, the WT Event Center in Canyon and selected United Supermarkets. Fans can charge by phone at 378-3096 or 242-7825.
