Atlantic City Surf News Release

Keith Gordon''s dramatic two-out three run homer to right field off Nashua''s Angel Miranda propelled the Atlantic City Surf to a 7-4 victory before 2050 at the Sandcastle Tuesday night.

The blast off the bat of Gordon was his team-leading 16th of the season. Atlantic City''s victory coupled with Camden''s loss to Bridgeport left Atlantic City six games ahead of the Riversharks in the race for the second half championship in the South Division of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball.

Atlantic City is now 28-9 in the second half and 33-12 under manager Mitch Williams. The Surf are now 56-43 overall and closing on the best overall record in the league.

Atlantic City took an early 4-1 lead but saw Nashua score single runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to tie the game. That''s the way it stayed until Gordon''s game-winner. The Surf bullpen was good once again led by southpaw Jake Chapman, who worked 3 1/3 innings in relief of starter Max Nunez. Chapman only gave two hits and one run in his stint. Mark Rutherford got the victory for Atlantic City; Jay Yennaco took the loss for Nashua. Gordon was 4-for-5 with three RBIs and two runs scored.
