
Goltz returning to RedHawks

FARGO, N.D. - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks have re-signed 2006 Northern League Rookie Pitcher of the Year Brandon Goltz and signed OF/1B Trey Hendricks, the Northern League club announced today.
Goltz, 25, was 9-2 with a 3.47 ERA in 19 games (18 starts) for the RedHawks in 2006. The Fergus Falls, Minn. native pitched 106.1 innings, allowing 56 runs (41 earned) on 93 hits. Goltz walked 54 batters, struck out 56 and held opponents to a .234 batting average against him. He was selected the Northern League Rookie Pitcher of the Year by the league's managers and media members following the season.
Goltz will be entering his second full season and third overall with the RedHawks in 2007. He was originally signed by Fargo-Moorhead in August of 2005 after completing his college career at North Dakota State University. Goltz appeared in four games (two starts) in 2005, going 2-0. He is 11-2 with a 3.38 ERA in his RedHawks career.
Hendricks, 24, joins the RedHawks after spending the past three seasons in the Arizona Diamondbacks organization. In 2006, he batted .230 with 16 doubles, six home runs, 47 RBIs and 33 runs scored in 103 games with South Bend of the Midwest League (A). In his three-year career, Hendricks has hit .251 with 39 doubles, two triples, 18 home runs and 115 RBIs.
Hendricks graduated from Harvard in 2004, where as a senior he was selected to the All-Ivy League First Team as a first baseman and was also the Ivy League Pitcher of the Year. Hendricks was also named to the All-Ivy League First Team his sophomore and junior years with the Crimson.
