
RedHawks trade Krasue to New Jersey

FARGO, N.D. - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks have traded OF Brent Krause to the New Jersey Jackals of the Can-Am League for C Jason Belcher, the Northern League club announced today.
Belcher, 25, appeared in 60 games for the New Jersey Jackals of the Can-Am League in 2006. He batted .286 with 13 doubles, four home runs, 31 RBIs and 34 runs scored in 213 at bats. Belcher drew 26 walks and struck out just ten times.
Belcher was originally selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the fifth round of the 2000 draft. He spent five seasons in the Brewers organization before being traded to the Montreal Expos midway through the 2004 season and advanced to the AA level in both the Brewers and Expos/Nationals organizations. In his career, Belcher has hit .287 with 116 doubles, five triples, 32 home runs and 256 RBIs in 519 games.
Krause, 26, was a two-year starter for the RedHawks in left field after being acquired from the Sioux City Explorers just prior to the start of the 2005 season. In 2006, he batted .282 with 30 doubles, six triples, six home runs, 64 RBIs and 68 runs scored in 96 games.
