Goldeyes Sign Kniginyzky & Salamida

The CRTC would approve of the Canadian content added today to the Goldeyes roster.
Winnipeg manager Rick Forney announced the signing of pitchers Matt Kniginyzky (nih-jin-ski) and Chris Salamida. There are now 21 players on the Goldeyes roster, 11 of whom are pitchers.
Kniginyzky, 27, arrives following five seasons in the Kansas City system. A standout on the Canadian team that won bronze last fall at the World Cup in Europe, he is 26-28 in 102 career appearances with a 4.13 earned run average.
Salamida, 25, bring four years of experience in the Houston system. Signed by the Astros out of SUNY-Oneonta, not far from his hometown in upstate New York, he is 27-18 in 128 career appearances with a 5.22 ERA.
Training camp opens May 4 at Canwest Park.
