Golden Baseball League Playoffs Begin Tonight

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Seals are proud to support the opening round of the 2010 Golden Baseball League Playoffs, beginning tonight in both Wailuku, Hawaii and Chico, California. The North Division finals will pit the 2009 Champion Calgary Vipers against the Chico Outlaws, while the South Division matchup has the Orange County Flyers versus Na Koa Ikaika Maui, making a post-season appearance in their inaugural campaign.
The Outlaws host the Vipers in games one and two of the best-of-five North Division Final between the first and second-half titlists starting tonight. Chico, which won the first half crown, will welcome Calgary for a 7:05 p.m. (PT) first pitch at Nettleton Stadium. The series shifts back to Foothills Stadium in Calgary for game three on Friday at 6:05 p.m. (PT), with games four and five also slated for southern Alberta (if necessary).

The opening two games of the best-of-five South Division Final will take place at Iron Maehara Stadium on the island of Maui. First-half champion Na Koa Ikaika will play host to the Orange County Flyers, who hope to return to the league final for the first time since 2008. The first pitch in the series opener is set for 9:35 p.m. (PT) tonight. Southern California will be the site of game three of the series on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. (PT), with the fourth and fifth game of the South Division battle also scheduled for Goodwin Field in Orange County (if necessary).
The Na Koa Ikaika broadcast will be covered by Bill Schindler, online at www.nakoaikaikamaui.com, while Josh Feldman has the play-by-play for the Orange County Flyers, available at www.orangecountyflyers.com.
