HARTFORD - Jack Wynkoop turned in the third complete game of his career, hurling the Hartford Yard Goats to a 6-2 win over Harrisburg Saturday night, in the first game of a doubleheader. The Senators won the nightcap, 3-0, in front of 6,491 at Dunkin' Donuts Park, improving their record to a league-best 18-4.

In the first game Wynkoop, a southpaw, allowed two runs in the seven-inning contest on six hits. He didn't walk a batter and struck out five. Colton Welker led the Yard Goats 10-hit attack with three hits, an RBI and a run scored. Ryan Metzler homered and singled and Manny Melendez added two singles and a stolen base of home, as Hartford defeated Harrisburg for the first time in five games this season.

Harrisburg pitchers Mario Sanchez and closer James Bourque held Hartford (11-12) to four hits in the second game. Sanchez pitched six innings, walked one and struck out six. Melendez, Welker and Metzler each reached him for doubles.

The Senators scored a run in the first inning on doubles by Luis Garcia and Ian Sagdal off of starter Jordan Foley. They added two runs in the seventh on an RBI-double by pinch-hitter Drew Ward and a sacrifice fly by Sagdal off of Logan Cozart.

The series wraps up Sunday at 1:05 PM. In a battle of right hand pitchers, Brandon Gold will pitch for Hartford and Wil Crowe for Harrisburg. The game will be broadcast on News Radio 1410AM, on 100.9 FM, in Spanish on 1120AM and on the Internet on newsradio1410.iheart.com and on MiLB.com.
