
Goaltender Taran Kozun Joins Reign from Manchester; Houser Reassigned

Ontario, CA - The Ontario Reign, proud American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL), announced today that goaltender Taran Kozun has joined the team from the Manchester Monarchs of the ECHL. In a separate transaction, goaltender Michael Houser has been loaned to the Monarchs on a conditioning assignment.
Kozun, 21, was acquired by the Monarchs in a trade with the Utah Grizzlies (ECHL) yesterday and appeared in nine games with the Grizzlies going 4-3-0 with a 3.08 goals-against average and .892 save percentage. The rookie netminder out of Nipawin, Saskatchewan began the season with the Missouri Mavericks (ECHL), but did not appear in a contest.
Prior to turning pro, the 6-foot-1, 165-pound goaltender skated four seasons of junior hockey in the Western Hockey League with the Seattle Thunderbirds and Kamloops Blazers and was named the WHL Top Goaltender (Del Wilson Trophy) last season.
Houser, 23, appeared in four games with the Reign this season, going 1-3-0 with a 2.56 goals-against average and .880 save percentage. In 11 games with the Monarchs this season, the Youngstown, Ohio, native is 8-3-0 with a 2.63 goals-against average and .913 save percentage.

The Ontario Reign team up with the Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley once again for Humane Society of San Bernardino Valley Night on Saturday, March 12 at 6:00 p.m. at Citizens Business Bank Arena. The Reign will wear special paw-print jerseys as they battle their rivals in the San Diego Gulls.
