Goaltender Martin Ouellette Loaned to Reading
October 29, 2015 - ECHL (ECHL)
Reading Royals News Release
Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, today announced that goaltender Martin Ouellette has been loaned from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the American Hockey League to the Royals. In a separate transaction, the Royals released goaltender Nick Niedert from his ECHL Standard Players Contract.
Ouellette, a second year pro from Saint-Hippolyte, Quebec, has played two games for the Royals this season and compiled a record of 2-0-0-0 with a 0.50 goals against average and .976 save percentage with one shutout. Ouellette had been recalled to Lehigh Valley last Saturday (October 24). He did not appear for the Phantoms while on this stint in the AHL. Niedert was signed by the Royals last Saturday and played 36:21 in substitution of starter Connor Knapp and made eight stops on eleven shots in Reading's 7-2 loss to the Elmira Jackals. Niedert was not the goaltender of record in that game.
The Royals return to action on Saturday (October 31 @ 7:00 pm) with our Haunted Hockey Halloween Night when the Orlando Solar Bears make their only trip of the year to Santander Arena. Fans-and particularly kids-are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes. There will be trick-or-treat stations on the concourse and a costume judging contest during the intermission. The organization will give away an autograph book courtesy of Prospectus Berco on Saturday, and there will be a full-team autograph session after the game. The team will wear wild and whacky Zombie-themed jerseys during the game, and the game-worn jerseys will be available for sale on-line after the game.
The game night broadcast for Saturday's matchup can be heard live on CBS SportsRadio 1240 am and 98.5 in Reading, Pennsylvania, starting with the pre-game warm-up show presented by Highmark Blue Shield at 6:30 pm et. Streaming audio is available free of charge on the Royals' website (follow the 'headset' icon); and streaming video is available on a pay-per-view basis through ECHL.TV. Remember, also, fans can always listen to the game night broadcast inside Santander Arena on the Diebler Dental In-Arena broadcast system at 99.3 fm.
