Atlanta Gladiators News Release
The Gwinnett Gladiators battled the Reading Royals in consecutive games last week where they posted a 0-2-0-0 record. Gwinnett slipped into second place in the ECHL's South Division as the Gladiators currently have 39 points and a 19-10-1-0 record on the season.

Friday, 12/28: Game vs. South Carolina - 7:05 p.m.
South Carolina Preview: The South Carolina Stingrays have lost their last five games including a 3-2 overtime loss to the Gladiators on December 15th. The Stingrays rank 4th in the South Division with 30 points and a 13-15-1-3 record. Tyler McNeely's 27 points off of seven goals and 20 assists is tops on the Stingrays.
Saturday, 12/29: Game @ Greenville - 7:05 p.m.
Greenville Preview: Greenville is led in scoring by Brandon Wong with 34 points off of 12 goals and 22 assists in 33 games this season. His 12 goals shares tops in that category with Marc-Olivier Vallerand on the Road Warriors. Greenville won a pair of games against the Toledo Walleye last week to move into first place in the ECHL's South Division. The Road Warriors have earned 40 points with a 19-12-1-1 record.

Friday, December 21: Reading 4, Gwinnett 2 - L
"ªReading jumped out to a 2-0 lead after one period. The Gladiators tied the game at 2-2 in the second period on goals by Christian Ouellet and Andy Brandt, but a power play goal by Kirk MacDonald midway through the second proved to be the game winner for the Royals. Mike Lee finished with 23 saves for Gwinnett in the loss.
Saturday, December 22: Reading 6, Gwinnett 3 - L
The Royals used a three-goal outburst in the second period, including two power play goals, to defeat the Gladiators, 6-3. Tyler Murovich scored 22 seconds into the third to cut the Reading lead to 4-2, but goals from Kirk MacDonald and Ethan Cox put the game away. Scott Arnold got the Gladiators final goal of the game, which was his first professional goal of the season.
News & Notes:
Multiples: Tyler Murovich notched a goal and two assists for Gwinnett in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Reading Royals. It was Murovich's fourth multiple point game this season for Gwinnett. The Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania notched 12 multiple point games last season for the Gladiators and posted three multiple point games in the ECHL in his rookie campaign in 2010-11 with Wheeling and Reading.
Back to Back: Christian Ouellet notched a goal for Gwinnett in Friday's 4-2 loss to Reading on Friday and also earned a goal for the Gladiators in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Royals. It was the first time this season that the Alma, PQ native has posted a goal in back to back games for the Gladiators. The Rookie has earned seven goals and three assists in 10 games this season for Gwinnett.
A First: Assigned to the Gladiators on Wednesday from the Portland Pirates of the AHL, forward Scott Arnold appeared in Friday's 4-2 loss to Reading. On Saturday against the Royals, Arnold notched his first professional goal and also added an assist for Gwinnett in the Gladiators 6-3 loss. Arnold had two assists in eight AHL games with the Portland Pirates this season.
On the Kill: Despite giving up two power play goals to the Reading Royals on Saturday night, the Gladiators share first overall in the ECHL on the Penalty Kill. Gwinnett has killed off 87.2 percent of opponents power play chances as they have given up 30 power play goals this year on 117 chances. The Gladiators have given up multiple power play goals in a game just twice this season.
On a Roll: Gladiators defenseman Cody Brookwell notched his eighth assist of the season in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Reading Royals. With his assist, Brookwell has earned nine points on the season and is on pace to post 21 points this season, which would, set a new career high for the defenseman out of the University of Denver. Brookwell's previous career high was 15 points (four goals, 11 assists) last season with Gwinnett.
