Gladiators QB John Dutton Named Russell Athletic Offensive Player of the Week

CLEVELAND - Cleveland Gladiators quarterback John Dutton has been named the Russell Athletic Offensive Player of the Week, the Arena Football League office announced today. Dutton becomes the first Gladiators player in 2012 to receive league honors.

Dutton guided the Gladiators offense in Week 4 to a 68-62 victory over the Philadelphia Soul on Sunday, April 1. He finished the game completing 29-of-39 passes for 305 yards. He threw nine touchdowns and rushed for one score.

In his 12th season in the AFL, Dutton has thrown for 300+ yards in two of the first three games this season and now has 18 touchdown passes through the air. He also has two rushing touchdowns.

The Cleveland Gladiators are part of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Quicken Loans Arena organization and also owned by a group led by Cavaliers Majority Owner and Quicken Loans Founder and Chairman Dan Gilbert. The group also owns and operates the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League playing at Quicken Loans Arena and the Canton Charge of the NBA Development League playing in nearby Canton, Ohio at the Canton Civic Center.
