Gladiators Announce 2016-2017 Promotional Schedule

DULUTH, Ga. - Of the 36 homes games the Atlanta Gladiators will play at Infinite Energy Arena during the 2016-2017 season, nearly all of them will have on- and off-ice fun planned for the entire family. Whether it be a special theme night, a $5 Frenzy event, or one of the many fan-favorite traditions, members of "Glads Nation" are guaranteed to make memories with their favorite local hockey team this year!

Schedule staples such as Teddy Bear Toss and the annual MLK Kids Day Out game occur on Saturday, January 21st and Monday, January 16th, respectively. For fans who like to celebrate the holiday season with the Gladiators, the team will again play on Thanksgiving Night, hold their popular "Ugly Christmas Sweater" Night on Friday, December 23rd, and host the annual Winter Clothing Drive during two games this season - Tuesday, December 27th and Thursday, December 29th. $5 Frenzy events continue with Fleece Blankets (01/14), Adult/Youth Mesh Replica Jerseys (02/04), and an item to be determined later (03/11). For the young Gladiator fans, Superhero Night is January 28th, Princess Day returns on Sunday, March 12th, and Star Wars Night occurs on Saturday, February 18th. Added to the theme night lineup this year is Ghostbusters Night on Saturday, November 5th.

New for 2016-2017 is the Gladiators "Hockey Fights Cancer" Weekend on March 10th through 12th. Replacing Pink in the Rink, "Hockey Fights Cancer" Weekend will continue to feature colored ice, but will provide a fresh take on the annual fundraiser traditionally held over the course of a three-game weekend. Full details will be released at a later date, but the event is designed to generate a new buzz around the Gladiators efforts to raise awareness and funds for cancer research.
