Gladiators Agree to Terms with Patterson
July 15, 2015 - ECHL (ECHL)
Atlanta Gladiators News Release
DULUTH, Ga. - Goaltender Kent Patterson will return to the Gladiators for the 2015-2016 season, the team announced on Wednesday.
Patterson, 25, joined the Gladiators in January, after starting the season with the Orlando Solar Bears. In 37 ECHL games played last season Patterson accrued a 9-20-5 record, a 3.35 goals-against average, and a .899 save percentage. In 13-14, Patterson played in 40 regular season games for the Denver Cutthroats of the CHL, picking up 23 wins, a 2.71 GAA, and a .922 SV% as he led the team to the league's Presidents' Cup Finals.
"We are glad to have Patterson back for this season," said Gladiators Head Coach Andy Brandt. "He is a high quality goalie who is better than his record last season indicates. I'm excited for Kent to have the chance this year to truly showcase his level of talent between the pipes."
The Plymouth, Minnesota native was drafted by the Colorado Avalanche in the fourth round (113th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. Prior to starting his professional career, the netminder played for four years at the University of Minnesota.
"I'm excited to come back to play for such a loyal fan base," Patterson said. "I look forward to helping the organization be one of the most competitive and successful teams in the ECHL next season."
