March 22, 2012 - Arena Football League (AFL)
Cleveland Gladiators News Release
CLEVELAND - This Friday night the AFL Cleveland Gladiators are ready to light it up at The Q when the reigning 2011 East Division Champs kick off the home portion of their 2012 season against the Kansas City Command at 7:30 p.m. The first 5,000 fans through the doors will receive a 2012 Gladiators magnet schedule presented by Bruno's Ristorante. Great seats are available starting at $13!
The 2012 home opener brings another season of the high-energy, fast-paced action and family fun of Gladiators arena football to Quicken Loans Arena. Under the direction of head coach Steve Thonn, the Gladiators are set to deliver their brand of hard-hitting competition in a game that moves fast and keeps fans entertained. Lots of passing and lots of scoring, fans will be in for a treat with the non-stop fun and exciting gridiron rivalries that are part of the Gladiators football experience. The 2012 season also marks the 25th anniversary of the AFL.
Throughout the night and at every game, fans will enjoy the Gladiators Goddesses dance team and everyone's favorite AFL mascot, Rudi, who will amuse fans of all ages-and after every home game, fans are invited down to the field to meet the players, get autographs and kick field goals! The Q's concourse will also have face and hair painting, temporary tattoos and sign making for fans to show their team spirit, as well as a full line of Gladiators gear at the Cavaliers Team Shop!
The Gladiators 2012 season marks a new era for the franchise since it became a part of Cavaliers majority owner Dan Gilbert's sports and entertainment family of companies based in Ohio this past January. Fans can expect the same kind of commitment to building a championship team and the signature award-winning fan presentation they experience under Gilbert's ownership of the NBA Cleveland Cavaliers, AHL Lake Erie Monsters and NBA D-League Canton Charge. Tickets for the Gladiators Friday, March 23rd home opener and the entire nine-game home schedule are available at ClevelandGladiators.com, the Quicken Loans Arena Ticket Office, by calling (216) 420-2222, or at any Northeast Ohio Discount Drug Mart location.
