PHILADELPHIA (March 21, 2012) - The Arena Football League has announced that Philadelphia Soul WR/KR Jeff Hughley (5'8, 180, Averett) has been named the National Guard MVP of the Week for his performance this past Sunday in the Soul's 63-62 victory in their season opener against the New Orleans VooDoo. Jacksonville's WR/DB Terrance Smith and Tampa Bay's WR Prechae Rodriguez were also up for the award.

"It's a great honor just to see that I'm recognized by the league. I'm thankful for the ability that God gave me and I used it that day," said Hughley on winning the award. "Hopefully on Friday we'll do the same thing."

Hughley finished the day with 265 yards on 10 kick returns, including one for a touchdown. He also caught four passes for 92 yards and two touchdowns.
