
Philadelphia's Hughley Voted Week 2 National Guard MVP

CHICAGO - Philadelphia Soul WR JEFF HUGHLEY has been named National Guard MVP of the Week for his performance in Week 2 of the 2012 AFL season, as voted on by fans.
Hughley (5-8,180, Averett) received 39 percent of the fans' votes on Facebook and ArenaFootball.com after a record-setting performance against the New Orleans VooDoo on Sunday. The 5-foot-8 receiver and kick return specialist set single-game franchise records for all-purpose yards (360) and kickoff return yards (265). He also tied the franchise record for most kickoff returns (10) in a single game and hauled in four catches for 92 yards and two touchdowns in the team's 63-62 win.
Other candidates for the award included Tampa Bay WR Prechae Rodriguez and Jacksonville WR/DB Terrance Smith.
The Soul (1-0) travel to the Consol Energy Center for a showdown with Keystone State rivals the Pittsburgh Power (1-0) on NFL Network's "NET10 Arena Football Friday." Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET on Friday.
